Representative Payee
A representative payee is a person or an organization who receive and manage the Social Security or SSI benefits for anyone who is unable to do so themselves.

Required Duties:

Determining the beneficiary’s needs and using payments for those needs

Saving any remaining money

Reporting any changes which could affect benefits or payment

Keeping records of all received payments
Conservatorship
Durable Power of Attorney
Durable power of attorney is a legal process where a third party is granted the authority to transact certain business for an individual. It does not lessen the rights of the individual.
Conservators are court-appointed to manage the finances of those who can no longer make their own decisions about finances or health care.

Maintaining a list of assets

Ensuring all needs are met

Paying any bills

Making sure individual receive all entitled benefits

Filing and paying taxes on time

Keeping and making required records and reports
V.A. Fiduciary
The Veterans Administration Fiduciary Program was established to protect Veterans who, due to injury, disease or age, are unable to manage their financial affairs. This is only determined through medical documentation or a court order. The fiduciary is responsible to the beneficiary and oversees financial management of VA benefit payments.
